My first chess set is complete!
White pieces are made from Hard Maple.
Dark pieces are made from Padauk.
End grain chessboard is made from White Oak and Walnut glued down to a piece of Birch plywood with Birch edge banding.
The pieces aren't perfect, but that's the charm of handmade pieces. The next set will turn out better.
